This Intellectual Property Policy explains who owns the content on the LocalLoco platform ("Platform") and how it may be used. It applies to all users, vendors, and ambassadors.
1. Ownership of Platform Content
All content created and owned by LocalLoco — including but not limited to the Platform's design, layout, code, graphics, logos, icons, text, and data compilations — is the exclusive property of LocalLoco and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.
This includes:
- The LocalLoco name, logo, and brand identity
- The Platform's user interface and visual design
- Proprietary algorithms, scoring systems, and data models
- Marketing materials, copy, and promotional content created by LocalLoco
- Aggregated and anonymised data derived from Platform usage
2. Restricted Use of Platform Content
You may not, without our prior written consent:
- Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any LocalLoco-owned content
- Use the LocalLoco name, logo, or trademarks in any commercial context
- Create derivative works based on Platform content
- Frame or mirror any part of the Platform on another website
- Use Platform content for training machine learning or AI models
3. User-Generated Content
3.1 Your Ownership
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Platform, including profile information, photos, reviews, and deal submissions ("User Content"). You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you post.
3.2 Licence to LocalLoco
By submitting User Content to the Platform, you grant LocalLoco a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display that content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform.
This licence continues even if you stop using the Platform, but only for content that has already been published or shared publicly.
3.3 Vendor Content
If you are a vendor, by submitting shop listings, deal descriptions, images, or other business content, you grant LocalLoco the right to display and promote that content on the Platform and in related marketing materials.
3.4 Content Standards
You must not submit User Content that:
- Infringes on the copyright, trademark, or other IP rights of any third party
- Contains images or text you do not have the right to use
- Misrepresents the source or ownership of the content
4. Trademarks
"LocalLoco", the LocalLoco logo, and any other product or service names or slogans displayed on the Platform are trademarks of LocalLoco and may not be copied, imitated, or used without our prior written permission. All other trademarks, registered trademarks, product names, and company names or logos mentioned on the Platform are the property of their respective owners.
5. Copyright Infringement
If you believe that content on the Platform infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please refer to our Takedown Policy for instructions on how to submit a notice.
6. Open Source
Certain components of the Platform may use open-source software. Where applicable, the relevant open-source licences apply to those components. Nothing in this policy overrides the terms of any applicable open-source licence.
